2026 Summer Camp · Session 2 Day 10

새 친구들이 왔어요 💕
각자 좋아하는 걸로 포스터 시작

JC After School · Coquitlam, BC · August 17, 2026 (Mon)

Happy Monday — and a warm welcome to our new students 💕 Here's to the start of a wonderful week, filled with school-preparing challenges, research posters and presentations.

The whole group sitting together in a circle on the classroom floor, listening
Everyone in one circle — old friends and new 💕

🙌 New Friends, Straight In No warm-up needed

The nice thing about a project week is that a new student has something to do from the first minute. No standing about being introduced — you sit down in the circle, you hear what everyone is working on, and you pick your own topic.

📋 Everyone Chose Their Own Topic And what a list it is

This is the sign-up sheet, and honestly it is the best thing we have seen all week. Given a completely free choice, here is what they went for:

🎹 Piano — How to PlayMinwoo · Leo Kim
🧪 SlimeMia · Hara · Lynn · Leo Y.
⚽ SoccerAshton · Jojo · Sue-ah
🐦 BirdsLoha
🚗 Cars & How to Drive ThemOmid
🎖️ How to Be in the SWAT & MilitaryLuho
🧸 Girls' ToysSua
💬 “Why Girls Are Better Than Boys”Ina · Rosy · Chloe · Jua

That last one deserves a note. The poster brief asks for facts, ideas, opinions, illustrations and demonstrations — and one team looked at the word opinions and decided to build their entire project around it. We are told the research is going well and the argument is airtight. 😄

✍️ A Productive Morning Everyone, at once

Then the tables filled up. Cutting, arranging, writing headings, checking each other's work — everyone worked very productively together on their posters.

🧪 The Slime Team Means Business Recipes, not just pictures

Worth showing on its own. The slime group is not simply pasting pictures — they are writing out actual recipes with measurements, one poster per variety, so they can demonstrate on presentation day.

Measurements, tools, method, and a result you can hand round the room — that is a science write-up wearing a very sparkly disguise. 🧪

“So happy to welcome some new friends to our group. Everyone worked very productively together on preparing their posters.” ❤️

🎤

This week: the presentations. Posters get finished, then each student stands up and presents. Ask yours which topic they signed up for — the answer will tell you a lot about them.

Give a child a blank poster and a completely free choice, and you find out immediately what they actually care about. Birds. Cars. Slime. SWAT teams. And one very determined debate. 💕
