2026 Summer Camp · Week 4 Day 2

Jeopardy Rematch 🏆
The Worksheet Comeback

JC After School · Coquitlam, BC · July 21, 2026 (Tue)

Tuesday morning brought another round of knowledge-challenging Jeopardy for both our younger and older students. The questions tested math problem-solving, grammar skill and accuracy, and knowledge of Canada’s wilderness—from camping and forests to animals and outdoor vocabulary.

🧠 Three Kinds of Knowledge Math · grammar · Canadian wilderness

Every category asked the children to think in a different way. Math questions required careful calculation, grammar questions rewarded precise language, and the wilderness round explored tents, campfires, trails, forests, and Canadian animals. Teams had to discuss quickly, agree on an answer, and explain their thinking.

📊 5800 vs 4800 Then the worksheets changed everything

At the end of the live quiz, the scoreboard stood at 5,800 points to 4,800. But the game was not over. Correct and complete worksheets earned bonus points, and the lower-scoring team’s accuracy lifted them into the win. It was a wonderful reminder that steady, careful work can change the final result.

Both teams received prizes for their excellent effort. Winning mattered, but so did persistence, accuracy, cooperation, and the willingness to keep trying until every worksheet was complete.

“We are very happy to have such a well-rounded and balanced variety of students, and very grateful for how they all cooperate and contribute to one another’s learning and social as well as academic development.”

Ms. Diane was fully occupied guiding everyone through the morning lessons, so there are fewer classroom photos than usual before lunch. The concentration and teamwork behind the scenes, however, were every bit as strong as the final scores suggest.

🍜 Lunch Together Refuel after the morning challenge

After an intense morning, everyone sat down to a warm Korean-style noodle and rice lunch. The children talked over the morning’s game, relaxed with friends, and refueled for an active afternoon.

☀️ An Active Afternoon Climb, swim, play

The afternoon moved outdoors beneath the tall trees. The children climbed, balanced, encouraged one another, and then cooled down in the pool. After a morning built around careful answers, the afternoon offered room for movement, confidence, and joyful social time.

🤝 More Ways to Cooperate Games, challenges, and friendship

Back at the centre, teamwork continued through play. A careful UNO tower drew a crowd, while friendly arm-wrestling matches brought concentration, encouragement, and plenty of laughter.

Looking Ahead
Tomorrow we will return to writing and complete more of the student-written books begun last Friday. The older students will concentrate fully on their stories alongside the other educational tasks the day brings.

Happy Tuesday, everyone. We are proud of the way these students learn across ages, support one another, and grow both socially and academically. ❤️
