2026 Summer Camp · Week 2 Day 2

꼬마 작가들의 하루 ✍️

Young Writers Workshop 📚

This morning, every camper became a young author. Each student wrote, revised, and illustrated their very own original story — from brainstorming and first drafts to editing marks, colored illustrations, and stapled-together books with cover art and author names. Real books, by real (young) writers! ✍️

✍️ Writers at Work Draft → Revise → Illustrate

The room went quiet in the best way — pencils moving, ideas flowing. The kids brainstormed with mind maps, wrote first drafts, then went back to revise their own sentences (you can spot the editing marks!). Big kids helped little kids sound out words, and every story got its own illustrations.

📖 Featured Story “Stop Giving Up!” by Chloe

One of today's gems: “Stop Giving Up!” — the story of a girl named Peace who loves to draw but keeps giving up on her drawings… until a drawing contest teaches her to keep going. A hand-lettered cover, a full plot, and a message we all needed to hear. 💛

📚 More from Our Authors Bunnies, Bears & Best Friends

And the library kept growing — “Be Friends!”, a tale of a bunny and bear who rescue a kitten, “Bunny, Be Careful”, and a bunny-and-turtle race story, each with its own colorful artwork.

🍕 Pizza Break Fuel for Authors

All that writing works up an appetite — cue a hot pizza break (and some very silly poses). 🍕

🌳 Playground & Flower Duty Sunshine Afternoon

The afternoon took us outside — playground time in the sunshine, then back home where the kids grabbed their little watering cans and watered the flowers in front of the school. Our garden crew takes the job very seriously. 🌸

💌 A note from Teacher Diane
“The students all became young writers this morning — wrote, revised, and illustrated their own original stories. They had much to be proud of for such hard work, concentration, and perseverance. Fantastic work, Everyone!!!” ❤️

Hard work, concentration, and perseverance — and a shelf of brand-new storybooks to show for it. We can't wait to see what our young writers create next. See you tomorrow! ☀️
