다이엔 선생님이 몸이 안 좋으셔서, 오전은 원에서 조용히 보내고 오후엔 블루마운틴 공원으로. 여덟 주의 2026 썸머캠프가 오늘로 마무리되었습니다.
다이엔 선생님 댁에서 하루 종일 🏡
교실 대신 다이엔 선생님 댁으로 — 피자와 핫도그, 선생님네 잉꼬와 토끼, 마당의 텐트와 비눗방울, 그리고 아이들 한 명 한 명에게 전달된 수료증까지.
피아노와 군대, 그리고 마지막 발표 🎹🎖️
Minwoo taught the class how to play piano and Luho presented on the army, navy, air force and S.W.A.T. — the last two student presentations of the summer, plus a letter between a parent and Teacher Diane.
마지막 주의 하루는 공원에서 천천히 🌳
A deliberately slow park and pool day in our final week — plus the details for Thursday's graduation and party at Teacher Diane's house, and a request for each child's English name.

The debate team presented. Behind a cheeky title was real persuasive writing — evidence from international assessments, academic vocabulary colour-coded line by line, and each student writing and signing her own paragraph. The final week begins.
축구 포스터 한 장이 영어 수업이 됐어요 ⚽
Presentation day two: a student's soccer poster produced ten vocabulary words for the whole class — ball, kick, pitch, tackle, header, penalty, offside — then everyone wrote "Let's play soccer" and their own name in cursive. Plus a presentation on cars.
직접 만들어 보이며 발표했어요 — 그리고 두 친구와 작별 🎤💕
The first presentations: the slime team showed their poster, then made slime live in front of the room, step by step from the recipe. Then a cupcake-decorating party and goodbyes to two friends leaving us.
아날로그 시계 읽기부터, 1억까지 세어봤어요 🕐
A poster-sized clock face for analogue versus digital time, reading large numbers up to one hundred million, exponents and negative numbers for the older group, and deliberately chosen addition worksheets for the younger one.
9시 수업 시작, 학교 리듬을 미리 연습했어요 ⏰
A real school timetable on the board as September approaches, three levels of maths worksheets at one table, and an afternoon of research posters — including a soccer poster that became a geometry lesson: 20 hexagons, 12 pentagons, 90 seams.
새 친구들이 왔어요 — 각자 좋아하는 걸로 포스터 시작 💕
New students joined us, and everyone picked their own research poster topic — piano, slime, soccer, birds, cars, SWAT teams, and one very confident debate. A week of presentations begins.
내가 제일 잘 아는 걸, 한 장에 담는 중이에요 📊
The presentation posters are nearly done. Each board has to carry facts, ideas, opinions, illustrations and demonstrations — from "How to play piano" to "Toys for Girls". They present next week.
영어 시제 12개, 문장까지 직접 만들었어요 ✍️
A new subject: all twelve English verb tenses on one chart, with each student writing their own example sentences underneath. Plus a parts of speech map and the start of a How-To poster project.
이번 여름에 배운 걸 한 장에 모았어요 🧪➗
The math and science review: teams brainstormed everything they had learned this summer onto two giant posters, checked each other's work, and had to agree before writing it down. Mathematicians beat Scientists — and everyone got a prize.

Math board games in the morning, then a kid-safe lava lamp: baking soda and vinegar reacting under a layer of canola oil, with carbon dioxide blooping up through the colour. Plus a first look at the periodic table — O, H, C, Ca, Na.
매쓰 먼데이 — 뭘 잘하고 뭐가 어려운지 알아본 날 🔢
Math Monday: a six-category Math Jeopardy board with Calculators versus Humans, worksheets matched to every age and level, and hands-on math with a dot plate and a cube net. Lava lamps tomorrow.
수료증 받고, 작별 인사하고, 생일 축하까지 한 날 🏅🎂
Certificates for Tim, Ian, Lincoln and Henry as they head home to Korea, their finished Choose Your Own Adventure books, a presentation on dwaeji gukbap, a farewell dessert bar, a surprise sixth birthday and the pool at Blue Mountain Park.

Science and cooking on an awesome Wednesday: the three states of water, snowflake crystals and osmosis — then a pizza kitchen where every child designed, topped and baked their own. Plus a Korean lunch, a walk and pool time.
고르는 대로 달라지는 이야기 — 나만의 모험책을 만들었어요 📖
Ratios and rates opened the morning, followed by a branching “Choose Your Own Adventure” writing project. A Korean-style lunch, a garden check, and pool time completed the first day of Session 2.

The Purple Water That Tells the Truth — 양배추 물의 비밀 🧪
Purple water made from soaking red cabbage turned out to be a pH indicator — neutral itself, but changing colour according to the acidity of whatever it met. Pure lemon juice went bright red. The children tested milk, coffee, vinegar, perfume, baking soda and more, and everyone practised cursive writing. A photo diary of July 31.
A Sentence Has a Skeleton — 문장의 뼈대를 배운 날 🦴
Analogies, and how the body or skeleton is an analogy for a sentence — a complete thought. A science experiment on whether you can eat upside down, a life-size body outline with Leah as the model, naming the bones, an introduction to cursive, and a new class record for the most idioms in a flip-book. On the Ball! — 나만의 관용구 책 만들기 🎯
The girls won Idiom Jeopardy, and every student built their own mini reference book of the 35+ idioms we have been collecting since Monday — definitions in their own words, with illustrations on every page. It's Raining Cats & Dogs! — 영어 관용구의 세계 🐱🐶
An intense morning of common English idioms — figures of speech that paint a word picture. The children matched idioms to meanings, hunted them in crosswords and word searches, compiled everything into their own new notebooks, and played a whole-class round of Idiom Jeopardy. Cultural and lyrical presentation posters, spoken mental-math equations, and a bear-or-skunk story built one WH-question at a time. A productive Wednesday finished with pizza, snacks, and colorful ice-cream sundaes.

제퍼디 리매치 — 학습지의 반격 🏆
Math, grammar, and Canadian wilderness knowledge went head to head. The scoreboard read 5800–4800, but accurate worksheet bonuses lifted the lower-scoring team into the win. Both teams earned prizes before a joyful afternoon of climbing, swimming, and games.
Grammar Jeopardy — 놀며 복습한 월요일 🎯
Question words, suffixes, root words and past tenses became a team Jeopardy challenge. Then came park play, a Korean lunch, question cards, piano, popcorn, a ball-balancing game and garden care. A photo diary of July 20.
What Happened? — 질문으로 완성한 이야기북 📖
The literary finale of our week of asking and answering questions. The children built full sentences under Who, What, Where, When, Why and How, then folded their own mini booklets — one page per question and a creative answer to "What happened?" Older students tackled quotation marks and reported speech and began writing complete stories. Curry tteokbokki and croquettes for lunch. A photo diary of July 17.
Who? What? Where? When? Why? How? — 질문의 문법 🗯️
The grammar of asking and answering the six big questions. Minwoo read dictations while the class ticked off each question type, then everyone worked through level-plus-one worksheets and created their own illustrated speech-bubble dialogues.
